January has proved itself to be a rather positive beginning to 2024 here at The Mortgage Desk. After a very challenging 2023 for home owners and potential buyers this month has given somewhat of a relief to the industry on a whole.
Mortgage rates dropping below 5% and a pent-up demand has boosted UK house sales this January, with sales agreed up 13% according to Zoopla. Sellers looking to move should feel cautiously optimistic but remember that 2024 will remain a buyers market, just as 2023 was.
Whilst still a small step in the right direction, the 2024 market shows an optimistic start in comparison to the last two quarters of 2023.
